This year, I am starting school as a new freshman. All the while the adrenaline of becoming a "highschooler", intrigues the throbbing feeling I have towards Freshman Friday. 
    I go to a charter school, located very close to the public high school. The two schools, in coorespondance, use the same bus system. Now, Freshman Friday usually takes place at the public high school, but it has spread like a virus into my school. I witnessed some of my best friends,that are now going to be sophomores, feeling the wrath of this Freshman Friday I keep mentioning. It's nothing bad or disasterous, it's not hazing or bullying. No one really knows what IT is, but we all dread it.
    Let me explain how I know what it feels like to be a freshman. I had a boyfriend that was freshman and is now a sophomore, he wasn't victimized as much, because he was cool. "Tim and Jake" was like The click this past year. Everyone young or old knew about Tim and Jake. Jake was my boyfriend. He had a little bit of trouble with Freshman Friday (FF) His friends would tease him or play silly pranks on him. To him, they were nothing, just jokes....classic, but I remember thinking how it would be devestating if it happened to me.
    Is there any pathological reasoning for mistreating freshmans? Why do kids do it? Will we ever figure out the cause? I really want to know! Is it because older kids were picked on when they were a freshman and they're trying to carry on some sort of "tradition"? Or do they just think it gives them a little power, you know, shows them whose boss? What about the kids that didn't pass the ninth grade last year? Will they tease us new freshman? I guess I don't understand the reason for FF, but shouldn't there be something we could do without being a snitch? I don't even want to get people in trouble, but what is there to do to take the stess out of FF?
    Is it all about in who you know? High school is supposed to render the best days of your life, what will happen to society?
